Voiceover Technology FAQ > SOFTWARE > What is FTP and how do I use it?
FTP means File Transfer Protocol. FTP is how you send files to servers on the Internet, either through a web portal or via an FTP client (application). Most web sites created by FTPing the files to a web server. When a client requests that you FTP a recording to them, they don't necessarily mean you must have access to an FTP server. As it goes currently it's more reliable and easier for all parties to use a file sending or hosting service like Yousendit or Box.net to deliver files to your clients. FTP has now simply become a buzz word.
